Academic Council meeting: Strategic areas of University development

The meeting of the Academic Council of International European University took part on October 31, 2024, becoming a platform for discussing key issues related to the future of our University. The main topic was the review of the 2021-2031 University Development Strategy. Alla Navolokina opened the meeting, drawing attention to the need to adapt to new challenges faced by higher education in the context of globalization and technological changes.

The discussion stressed the importance of developing the strategy that would meet the current labor market requirements and educational standards, as well as would be clear to all stakeholders both in Ukraine and abroad. Members of the Academic Council introduced suggestions on improving the quality of education, integration with the international academic space, and development of scientific research. Attendees also discussed new initiatives aimed at attracting investments in science and education, which is critical to ensure the University’s competitiveness at the international level.

The next agenda item included the discussion of operations and development prospects of the European Medical School. O.Y. Vovk, the Director of the School, presented a detailed report on the Institute’s achievements over the past years. He emphasized that the European Medical School is actively introducing state-of-the-art medical technologies into the educational process and developing programs that meet European standards.

Besides, the meeting discussed the performance of the 2024 Admissions Committee. It presented the report on the admission campaign results and highlighted key objectives to advance career guidance activities at the University.

Council members focused on improving the methods of conducting information campaigns and intensifying the work with potential students.

The meeting concluded with the discussion of the state and development prospects of the student self-government in the 2024/2025 academic year. Yelyzaveta Fishchuk, the President of the Student Parliament, shared student achievements and plans for the upcoming year. She underlined the activity of solving relevant issues of University life and the importance of involving young people in management processes. The President of the Student Parliament thanked the University Administration for close interaction and cooperation.

In addition, attendees talked about initiatives on organizing new projects to improve the learning environment and enhance the quality of student life.
