New research explores the role of digital media in fostering Inclusion, Participation, and Peacebuilding across Europe
The INCLUDE ME+ project proudly announces the release of its comprehensive Mediation in Media study — an in-depth exploration of the current state of digital media in Europe.
This newly published study examines how digital media is both shaping, and being shaped by, efforts to create safer, more inclusive online spaces across Europe. It brings together two key research reports:
- A Desk Research Report — offering a detailed overview of the European digital media landscape, including current legislation, policy initiatives, and current challenges to an inclusive digital environment.
- A Participatory Action Research (PAR) Report — based on direct input from representatives of students, civil society organizations, digital media creators, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and experts, highlighting real-life experiences, community challenges, and innovative practices in inclusive media-making.
Together, these reports provide vital insights into how digital platforms can serve as spaces of visibility, safety, and voice for marginalized communities. The research was carried out by partners across:
— with additional EU-wide insights.
— INCLUDE ME+ Consortium
The findings from this research will directly inform the upcoming INCLUDE ME+ educational programme, which will equip media professionals, HEI educators, students, and CSOs with the tools and strategies to create responsible, inclusive, and participatory media across Europe.
Explore the findings. Rethink digital inclusion. Be part of the change.
