The International European University hosted another lecture for Psychology students as part of its collaboration with the Kyiv International Forensic Institute of Psychological Examinations and Polygraph Research — a meeting that allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the nature of deception, human psychophysiological reactions, and the operation of the polygraph.
The lecture sparked strong interest among students of the “Psychology” program.
The speaker was Oleh Anatoliiovych Nazarov, one of the most renowned polygraph experts in Ukraine:
• Director of the Kyiv International Forensic Institute of Psychological Examinations and Polygraph Research
• PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor
• Certified forensic psychological expert (polygraphologist)
accredited by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine
• Representative of the International Society of Polygraph Examiners (ISOPE) in Ukraine
• Trainer and lecturer at the National School of Judges of Ukraine
The lecture covered key topics essential for future psychologists:
how the polygraph works and which psychophysiological signals the human body produces; how deception is formed and which reactions accompany insincerity; why lie detection is an important skill for psychologists in practical work; how instrumental methods are applied in psychological examinations; why children sometimes recognize insincerity faster than adults, and what psychological science says about this.Students had the opportunity to ask questions, explore real cases, and gain a new perspective on the connection between stress, emotions, and behavioral reactions.
