The second seminar as part of the Ukrainian-Swedish project: Supporting Postgraduate Students as a Significant Element of Strengthening the Healthcare System in the De-Occupied Territories in Ukraine took place on October 17, 2024. This important event is supported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and funded by the Swedish Institute.
The seminar brought together more than 30 young researchers, postgraduate students, doctors, and interns from all over Ukraine, as well as postgraduate students from Belgium, the USA, and Germany studying at Karolinska Institutet. The event was opened by Associate Professor Ingeborg van der Ploeg who stressed the importance of the Ukrainian experience for strengthening the healthcare system and strategic cooperation between Ukraine and Sweden.
After informative presentations by Oleh Bilianskyi and Oleh Deviniak, participants were divided into groups to identify stakeholders in the medical response to the war challenges in Ukraine.
Professor Tobias Alfvén, the President of the Swedish Society of Medicine, thanked the project team for their professionalism and devoted work for the benefit of public health.
The event aroused great interest and lively discussion! The next seminars are scheduled for December 2024 and January 2025 where we will focus on innovations in medicine and scientific data communication. Join us!
