Walking tour: Kyiv is the Ancient Capital of Kyivan Rus
As part of a recent walk around Kyiv, the teaching staff of the Department of Tourism, Social Sciences and Humanities conducted a tour: Borders of Yaroslav’s City, allowing students of the European Business School of International European University to advance their knowledge of historical and cultural resources of the capital and just have a great time.
The 4 km long circular route ran along the defensive ramparts of Kyiv of the 13th century and gave an idea of the scale of the capital’s urban development between the 5th and 13th centuries.
Students found out how the historical core of the city grew from the small Kyi Grad to the real medieval metropolis with an area of 400 hectares and a population of 50 thousand people.
Along the route, students were also able to visit the iconic objects of fortification and sacred architecture of Kyivan Rus, use augmented reality technology, see how the Liadski Gate looked like, enjoy the view from Starokyivska Hill, and much more.
Thank you for this exciting and informative walk
